post2.jpgBeing a member of the armed forces is considered a high risk work. You can be sent anywhere around the world or even in your homeland you can be injured during military exercises. For this reason, majority of enlisted personnel cannot get life insurance coverage from private insurers.

To address this problem, the Veterans Affairs developed insurance programs that would provide coverage benefits to veterans and those in the active service. Because of the nature of their work and sometimes disability, they are declined by private insurers. The VA also introduced a program that when you are totally disabled after leaving the service, you can still be covered for 2 years without extra cost.
